Wheaties Protein Cereal

Wheaties Protein Cereal

Wheaties taps into the protein cereal game with the latest announcement of two brand new protein cereal flavors; Maple Almond and Honey Pecan. Recently, there's been quite a bit of hype around American innovation in the functional food space, and we're all about it! Just last week, Ghost launched two flavors of their highly-anticipated protein cereal - which also just so happens to be in cahoots with General Mills. Wheaties is certainly doing things a bit different from Ghost, and there's a lot to like about it!

Wheaties brand new protein cereal officially clocks in with the most protein per serving in comparison to any other protein cereal in the United States. Per 64g serving, Wheaties comes in between 21-22g of protein and 270-280 calories. When compared to the regular version of Wheaties, this protein-packed iteration features nearly four times the protein content... Not too shabby!

While both the regular and protein-packed version of Wheaties primarily features whole grain wheat as their main ingredient, the latter of which is comprised of soy isolate, coconut, wheat bran, and pumpkin seeds. You can expect to see Wheaties Protein available on Walmart shelves later this month at a price-point of $8.99.

It's exciting to see a household name like Wheaties put an extra emphasis on health and wellness. The cereal powerhouse has long since been a giant in the food space, and it's refreshing to know that after decades of success, they're still willing to innovate for their customers. While protein cereal is not a new concept by any means, having another option readily available at the largest grocery store chain on the planet is a massive feat.

I think it's safe to say this thing will be flying off the shelves come later this month.
