What is Ashawaganda? Ashawaganda is an adaptogenic herb known as Indian Ginseng that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine to reduce stress and anxiety. Ashawaganda is rich in many bioactive compounds. Its benefits are often attributed to its withanolide content; compounds that act as antioxidants, reduce inflammation, and display hormone regulating properties. KSM-66 is the most researched strain of Ashawaganda, and studies suggest it reduces levels of our stress hormone, cortisol. As chronic stress has been associated with weight gain, reducing cortisol levels proves to be a beneficial mechanism for weight management.
