What is CitraPeak? CitraPeak is a trademarked ingredient developed by Prinova. It's composed of glucosyl hesperidin; a flavone glycoside that's rich in many bioactive compounds and typically found within the peels of citrus fruits, most specifically oranges. The benefits of CitraPeak are well documented, as it's been shown to promote blood flow through several mechanisms. 

But how exactly does CitraPeak work? Let's take a deeper look ⬇️

Blood flow

CitraPeak enhances blood flow in several ways. Hesperidin enhances levels of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide expands blood vessels through a process called vasodilation. This mechanism allows more blood to be delivered to your muscles; at the same time, it also helps to remove waste products on its way out. Since blood is the carrier of oxygen and nutrients to muscle tissue, increases in blood flow proves to be especially beneficial for exercise performance. However, Hespiridin's effect on nitric oxide are slight, which means it would most likely benefit alongside other nitric oxide boosting ingredients like citrulline and Nitrosigine.

In addition, CitraPeak provides a thermogenic effect, which further expands blood vessels and enhances blood flow. Once ingested, Hesperidin converts to hesperitin; a flavonoid that increases endothelial nitric ocide synthase, which generates more nitric oxide within arteries.

The issue with Hespiridin pertains to solubility, as Hepseridin is insoluble in water and has a poor absorption rate/low bioavailbility. Glucosyl Hesperidin differs from generic Hepseridin, as it is enzymatically bound to a glucosyl group. This combination significantly increases its bioavailability when compared to Hesperidin itself. Animal studies suggest the absorption of glucosyl-hesperidin to be almost four times more bioavailable than generic Hesperidin.
